Monthly Favourites- April 2014

A blog post is long overdue because, without telling anyone, I decided to take some time off to focus on my finals. I also needed to figure out where I really want things to go. I haven’t quite figured it all out yet, but I have many ideas for this blog, including new concepts, and regular posts. I am in such a good place in my life right now. I am finishing off the school year happier than I have ever been, and I’m planning to get some goals together to ensure that I am in an ever better place in September. Because (real girl problem here), I do not have it all together. I love this blogging thing, but I started with no plan, no goal, no knowledge. I also need to work out more, and keep myself on a schedule that allows me to stay tidy and focused (clean room means clean mind). Today is the last day in April which means you get to see my reflection of products and events of this month (find last month’s here )! April was a fun month. I feel accomplished looking back. Pinterest Challenge- Brownie Oatmeal

I was doing my lovely rounds on Pinterest for my Pinterest Challenge and I found this recipe for Brownie Oatmeal from Dashing Dish . I mean, it had me at Brownie. I have a lot more chocolate products on my food board  if you're interested. As I mentioned on my Very Inspiring Blog Award , I love breakfast, so I made this power oatmeal for the morning before an exam.  I did end up changing the recipe to suit my own tastes, and it’s pretty easy to make. Brownie Oatmeal Ingredients ·          1 cup of coconut milk ·          ½ cup of Greek yogurt ·          2 tbsp cocoa powder ·          1/8 tsp salt ·          2 tbsp honey ·          1 ¼ cup oatmeal Instructions Add the coconut milk. Add the Greek yogurt. Add the cocoa. Add the salt. Add the honey.

Very Inspiring Blog Award

Yay yay yay, I got nominated for the Very Inspiring Blog Award from Marlee at Marlee and You ! Now, you can learn even more about me! Pretty exciting isn’t it? The hardest part is gathering all the 15 bloggers to tag. But hey, I got this! Rules: 1.        Link the person who nominated you (CHECK) 2.        List and display the rules (CHECK) 3.        Share seven facts about yourself. 4.        Nominate 15 other blogs and let them know they have been nominated. My Seven Facts: 1.        My favourite meal is breakfast. Although I basically only eat milk and cereal, I love the variety of things you can have. I just made myself a Blueberry Breakfast Quesadilla , and it was amazing! 2.        My all time favourite website is HelloGiggles . I have recently taken on the title of a feminist, and this website has been a great way to see that other women share the same views as me. 3.        I’m not a chick-flick kind of girl. James Bond and Indiana Jones are the best. I

Pinterest Challenge- Blueberry Breakfast Quesadilla

It is exam time! This means I have a lot more time to myself, and that means I have been spending a lot more time procrastinating. New obsession? Pinterest. My good friend Marlee from Marlee and You has challenged me to a Pinterest challenge. Instead of simply doing three things a month, I will do one thing a week. It can vary from recipes like I have done this week, or decorations for my bedroom. This will replace my outfit posts since I will not have enough outfits a week to create a sufficient blog post. Now, I found this recipe last night on Pinterest , but it is originally from Daydream Recipe . I loved it. I love blueberries. And I love food. I feel like everyone has a food board, but you can follow mine here . Anyway, this recipe was really simple to make. The original recipe calls for a cinnamon spread, but I didn’t have one so I made my own (my mom was proud). Blueberry Quesadilla Ingredients For the Cream Cheese Spread: ·          2 tablespoons cream chees
