Copycat the Cool Way #21

Yes. It has been a while since I have done this. I have started my spiral into the last month of school. As a good friend (whom I appreciate more and more every day) pointed out to me, I tend to put schoolwork off and then I get so behind that I start to stress myself out and lose sight of all that is important. Which includes posting things. Good news is, I have at least a week of extra outfits saved on my laptop for when school is over and it become hermit time for me. I'll keep you posted on what will be happening come April/May.
It's Saturday night, but this week seems so far away for me. I don't know what's going on, but I overslept my alarm every day for at least half an hour. You can tell by Thursday and Friday because the state of my hair just declines. Hopefully I can get my energy back next week!

Tuesday- Real live quote from a friend: "Of course you have a sweater with a zebra on it." Apparently, this sweater is a complete reflection of who I am. I love it though. Probably the softest thing I have ever worn. Plus, it makes me happy. Who could be sad with a zebra sweater? Or a camel sweater like Seersucker & Saddles.

Sweater- The Bay
Denim Button Up- Old Navy
Jeans- Old Navy

Wednesday- Did I wear the denim shirt two days in a row? Yeah. Maybe. I honestly have weeks where I want to wear the same thing all week because I just love the look. This week was denim button up week apparently. My sister told me I loved like a French girl with the scarf (which was stolen from her by the way). I do not own a scarf like the one from Pinterest Told Me To. I'm following that blog now, by the way. I love it when Pinterest leads me to new blogs!

Scarf- "borrowed"
Cardigan- Garage
Button Up- Old Navy
Leggings- Garage

Thursday- This was so simple. I had not worn these adorable polka-dot pants in a while (although they do not come across in the picture), and the outfit from Pop Miss called for them! Things work out sometimes. I would have preferred to use a sweater more like the inspiration photo has, but I had to make do with what I had.

Shirt- Roots
Necklace- American Eagle
Pants- Old Navy

Friday- I relied heavily on the red lipstick to get me through this day. Even that wasn't original because the post on Bonjour Blue has the same thing! It was a rough day. However, my three hour lecture was the most interesting and completely reflective of my life at this point. I wore a red-lipped smirk the whole time. Side note: remember when I talked about my issue with the length of jeans in my October favourites? This is a prime example of jeans being way too long for me. That is one thick cuff.

Blazer- Target
T-shirt- Old Navy
Jeans- Old Navy

I can honestly say I survived this week because of lipstick. What do I have in store for the coming week? Writing papers. Lots of extra time spent at school. Late nights. Coffee. And probably more lipstick to overcompensate for my lack of together-ness in every other aspect of my life. Cool.

Is fall not the best reading season? I’m so glad I’ve had a few opportunities to sit on the front porch, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket with a hot drink and my book. Right now, it’s raining outside and all I want to do is cozy up and get back to my book. I’ve read some great non-fiction in the past six weeks. I’m learning so much about how people relate to the world around them. That is so important to me. Check them out! The Reason I Jump: The Inner Voice of a Thirteen-Year-Old Boy with Autism – Naoki Higashida – 4 Stars         This is a very short book that I think everyone should read – particularly those who work with children. Although knowledge has come a long way, there is still so much more to be learned about autism. This book is a series of question that Naoki Higashida answers from his point of view. Interspersed is also a handful of short stories from Higashida’s point of view.         It’s an i...

Book Review- A Treatise On Shelling Beans by Wieslaw Mysliwski

So this book took me way too long to read. I read before bed to shut my brain off, but I was so exhausted all summer that I was asleep as soon as I got into bed. It has been a long time, but I finally finished it! I took a good handful of quotes that sparked my thinking, so brace yourself! And if you’re interested in the tradition summer, you can find it here . 1.        When people can be divided by something they always will be (9). Just think-the only thing that really divides us as people are differences. If we see someone who is a fraction of a fraction different than us, our minds consider it division. Why is that? Why must we let things get in the way of relationships?   2.        All the more because if you ask me, these days the soul is a commodity like anything else. You can buy it and sell it, and the prices aren’t high (28) A popular book genre of the modern era is “self-help.” Lumped with that...
