How to Make a Happier Home

Before we  get into this  post  I need to preface it: I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I AM DOING. Do NOT take my word for bible truth. Do NOT trust a thing I say because I am simply a young adult with her first job that is open to screwing up but is also terrible at routine. I’m making things work for me. I’m creating my own sense of what home means and I’m going to share that on here in hopes that it makes someone else feel a little better about where they’re at in life. You can learn from me and maybe I can learn from you at some point.   Got it?   I’m slowly starting to get a work/life balance. Now that I’m spending more time at home (and not working through it), I have an urge to make it seem more homely. My first big step was sparked when  Ozeri  reached out to me and offered some of their products to try out. These products were all gifted, but all views are my own.    My favourite wine requires a corkscrew and I wasn’t adult en...

GlossyBox Review

*this post is not affiliated with Glossybox in any way (although, not opposed to a partnership) Confession: Before this year, I had never participated in a subscription box. I always wanted to, but it never seemed to happen. They always seemed too expensive or not my taste. When I heard about Glossybox , I jumped at the opportunity. You can choose between three months, a year, and a single month. The singles cost only £10 and includes 5 beauty items. To me, that seems so perfect. I’ve received five boxes from them, so I’ve put together mini-reviews of the products that were in the boxes from February-April. February -           Ciate London Gelology & Paint Pots -           Steve Laurent Nude Pop Lip Tint -           Studio10Beauty Makeup Mist Glow-Plexion -           Skin Chemist...

Product Review - Essentially Soft

I have once again received something to review from BzzAgent . The last product I reviewed was deodorant , and going along with the beauty theme, I have received shampoo, conditioner, and oil elixir from Herbal Essence’s Wild Naturals Rejuvenation Collection. The way BzzAgent works is that they have a series of activities to complete. Last time, a blog post was required. It isn’t this time, but I figured I would give you all the full review anyway! This collection is meant to restore hair back to its natural state. It strengthens and nourishes your hair. Using all the products together is meant to give your hair extra protection against breakage and give your hair extra shine! My hair was generally healthy before I started using the products, so I don’t know if I got the whole she-bang. The scent is Turkish fig and cassia flower. I have no idea what either of those are supposed to smell like, but I liked the scent of the shampoo and conditioner. Just so you know, I have thin hair. ...

Winter Ruins Outfits- Product Review

So six more weeks of winter huh? Or four-ish by now. I have my regular outfit posts , but the thing I cannot show you is the multitude of layers I have to wear on top to keep warm. And let me tell you, I have tried to research ways to look cute in the winter. Even my favourite bloggers don’t have the answers for me. People look cute, but then you go outside in ridiculous wind and blowing snow and you realize that a thin jacket with a bare neck and no hat is just not going to cut it. At this point, I have given up. Winter is a patchwork quilt of mittens and scarves, and so out I trek in a puffy coat and actual winter boots. And this super cute headband. I have a friend who runs her own knitting company based in Montreal, Quebec. Darien Hamedani Knitting offers different types of hats, scarves, headbands, and as of recently, mittens as well. Check out the Facebook page, and you can enquire about the prices. I opted for the headband because I thought it would be the perfect solution ...

The Secret of the (Non) Stink- Product Review

This is a post about deodorant. Just a heads up. I am part of a website called BzzAgent . It gives members the opportunity to fill out surveys about your lifestyle and you can get free stuff based on your answers. All you have to do is share it on social media (I’m still trying to figure out a way to post it on Instagram without making it sound like a cheesy ad) and be honest about whether you like it or not. So I mean, it’s a good idea. I went crazy on filling out the surveys when I applied for membership, and I got a match for an upcoming campaign within a week. I suppose I am lucky. For this campaign, I received Secret Outlast Clear Gel in Ooh-La-La Lavender. Receiving deodorant in the mail is quite the experience, let me tell you. First issue: how the heck do you write a blog post about deodorant? Second issue: how does one go about taking pictures of deodorant that are decent enough to be put on the Internet (Google is useless in this matter)? My conclusion: I decided to wing it...
