Monthly Favourites- March 2014

It’s the last day of March everybody! That means that people will be coming out with their monthly favourites. I decided to do the same. All the things I love the most....est. Get it? I’ll keep it short and sweet. A list of my top five favourite things of the month. They won’t necessarily be the same five things every month either. It depends on the month. Here we go: 1.        Favourite Item: This box. My mom and sister came back from a shopping trip to Home Sense with a couple of these boxes. This one is the biggest, and it was the easiest to take a picture of. They are both great for storage. I’m using one to store my extra nail supplies and perfume bottles that don’t fit on my tray. The other is (finally) used to store all my nail polishes. 2.        Favourite Music: Picture found  here . Last Night on Earth by Noah and the Whale. My sister is half-hipster. She listens to all of this kind

Copycat the Cool Way #4

Time is just flying by! I mean, I am almost done my first year of university! I have a confession. I am finding it very difficult to blog regularly. It’s the end of the year and everything is going so fast all at once and I have so many ideas, and some posts half-written, but my focus is elsewhere. As soon as I get a second to breathe, I will sit down, write all of my ideas and go from there. Hopefully, I can find some motivation to be consistent. But I did end up writing something from the heart on Tuesday. I invite you to check it out here . It’s a topic I feel very strongly about. In other news, this week was pretty bland.  My birthday was last Saturday, and that was spectacular, but starting a week after so much excitement is hard! Also, most of my outfits came from my own making, just a warning. Here we go: Monday- This outfit is rather simple. Since I am only at school for one hour, I don’t go over the top with my outfits anyways. I took the idea from a magazine. I apolo

The Confessions of a "Fat" Girl

First of all, I completely forgot to post yesterday. I came home from school and fell asleep for a few hours and then I went to work. So I apologize. I have been reading a couple things that are really starting to get on my nerves in reference to weight. I am not skinny. I am probably considered overweight, in fact. However, I am lucky in the sense that I am comfortable in my own skin. I know what looks good on my body, and I know what I need to stay away from. I know how to accentuate the best parts of me. That being said, I have a personality that is louder than anything I can wear. I think that is more important than how I look. I just wrote an entire essay in my Women’s Studies class about body vs. personality. But I want to talk about body images and issues. I mean, we live in a world that is obsessed with “Which university has the best boobs” and “Why curvy girls are better than fat girls.” So here is my proposition for this post: I will tell you some facts about life as a “

Copycat the Cool Way #3

This week has been full of emotional ups and downs. Lots of stress, but lots of happiness too! I got the wonderful news that will be a leader for next year’s o-week at my university! I am so overjoyed, and after meeting everyone and going through Spring training today, I am excited beyond excited. I’ll write more on it later! I can’t wait to share this experience with everyone! Also, I’m not feeling very descriptive today. I’m sorry for my minimal outfit explanations. Here we go: Monday- I forgot to pick out my outfit, and I was in a rush, so I ended up with this outfit. The cardigan is really comfy. I love it so much. That’s all I have to say. The cardigan and jeans are from Old Navy. The shirt is from Forever 21. Tuesday- I got this outfit from a blog, but I cannot remember which one it was. If you know, let me know. I would appreciate that. This was the day I got the call for sophing, so this outfit is very special.

Book Review- Miss. Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

I feel like titles should not be that long at all. Don’t judge. I finished this book about a week ago and I haven’t got the chance to write about it yet. I’m also almost done a different book. I also recently went out and bought a whole bunch of new books. For all you fashionistas/makeup gurus that get excited about a shopping spree, that is me and books. I keep a keep continuous list on my phone if I see a book online that I want to go buy. This week, I got into a discussion with someone who told me to get all my books for free online. I do own an ereader, but it’s not my preference. I like the smell of new books and the sound of a cracking spine when you open a hardcover for the first time. I like seeing all my books lined up on my bookshelf and knowing exactly where to find a book because it’s my own personal library so I put them all there. I have told you before, I am a nerd. This book was suggested to me by the same friend who sugge

Copycat the Cool Way #2

I admit that I am a little late with this post. Things have been insane school-wise so I haven’t been keeping up to date with all my posts. Or anything for that matter. Plus, I got a new phone and I had to figure out how to get all the pictures from my old phone on to my laptop. Ugh. The following blurb is an imitation of my brain: duibqieufbijenwcijaaiojcfpo wijojndwqioNQIOENFONIONICQNINQ/ what? Descriptive right? Bear with me, I’m pre-writing a couple posts while I’m focused on blogging. I got you covered. Monday- Probably my favourite pants ever. They’re super comfy, but it can be tough to style them. I took the inspiration from a picture from a magazine (I think it might have been Glamour). It was also a spring day in Canada (did not last long), so I wanted to keep it cool temperature-wise. I have a blue cardigan that I typically wear instead of the scarf. Also, rainboots. Buy rainboots. They are the best for the icky, slushy, melty weather that is just around the corner!

Ask and I Will Tell- Liebster Award

Fun fact: I like Mondays because a) I’m totally rested from the weekend, b) I basically have the whole day to myself, and c) my Monday night shifts at work are the best. Anyway, I got nominated for a Liebster award! Shout out to Emily at Pumpkin Emily Smiles ! I will give bonus points to anyone who can tell me what “liebster” means and why it has relevance to blogging. Anyway, things are different this time around. Here we go: 1.        Thank the blogger who nominated you (CHECK). 2.        Answer the 11 questions given to you. 3.        Nominate 11 other followers with less than 500 followers. 4.        Post 11 questions for the nominees to answer. 5.        Tag your nominees and post a comment on their blog to let them know you nominated them So are we clear? Good? Yeah? Okay, these are the questions I need to answer. 1.        What’s your favourite food? I always feel like this question is so much more complicated than it needs to be. I mean, I have a fav
