Copycat the Cool Way #28

Whoops, I chopped my hair off. I will explain a little more about it on the 30th in my monthly favourites, but it has been the best decision I've made in a long time! At this point, I am 4 exams down, 1 to go. I've spent lots of time studying, and so far I think I've been doing well. Other than that, I've had an amazing week with friends. It's odd that I'm meeting so many new people now when it's the end of the year and people are going home and I'm leaving in September.

Wednesday- This outfit was from an Etsy ad. I liked the addition of the statement necklace. It was good for writing an exam because the t-shirt underneath was comfortable. Last year, I was on the hunt for a real denim vest like the one in the inspiration picture, but I ended up find this sleeveless shirt instead. It has come in hand many times.

T-shirt- Target
Sleeveless Shirt- Smart Set
Jeans- Old Navy
Necklace- Old Navy

Thursday- This was a major study day. I was at school from after dinner until 4am, so I knew I needed something very comfortable. The simple look from an ad from Swoon Boutique had the perfect solution. Plus, scarves are the perfect way to elevate an outfit, and it takes no time at all!

Cardigan- Old Navy
Tank top- Old Navy
Jeans- Old Navy
Scarf- Garage

Friday- I was thinking about using this outfit for an night out to the bar, but it ended up being a good idea for school. I took the idea from Quarter Life Closet and I added the bling of a long necklace. There's something about feeling good on an exam day that has a fantastic affect when you write the actual exam.

Vest- Smart Set
T-shirt- Garage
Jeans- Old Navy
Necklace- Old Navy

Nails of the Week- I have owned Mint Candy Apple by Essie for a while now, but I have not tried it. I think it's one of the more popular colours (don't quote me on that), but just like I felt with the week I tried Romper Room, I'm not a fan of how light it is.

Nails of the Week #2- I ended up painting my nails again halfway through the week because I was just not a fan of Mint Candy Apple. Ate Berries in the Canaries by OPI is one of my favourite colours ever. This picture is not the greatest because of the glare, but when it dries, it has hints of a deeper pink that's almost purple.

Due to the fact that I will not be out in public wearing real outfits for the next four months, I will be changing my schedule around a little bit. I will be doing Pinterest challenge posts on Saturdays, and the outfit posts will be changing to the last Saturday of the month.

Is fall not the best reading season? I’m so glad I’ve had a few opportunities to sit on the front porch, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket with a hot drink and my book. Right now, it’s raining outside and all I want to do is cozy up and get back to my book. I’ve read some great non-fiction in the past six weeks. I’m learning so much about how people relate to the world around them. That is so important to me. Check them out! The Reason I Jump: The Inner Voice of a Thirteen-Year-Old Boy with Autism – Naoki Higashida – 4 Stars         This is a very short book that I think everyone should read – particularly those who work with children. Although knowledge has come a long way, there is still so much more to be learned about autism. This book is a series of question that Naoki Higashida answers from his point of view. Interspersed is also a handful of short stories from Higashida’s point of view.         It’s an incredible book. It’s something that really allows readers to understand ho

James Bond and Indiana Jones are the best. I

Monthly Favourites- February 2016

I don’t know about you, but it feels like February has flown by! I can’t say it’s been a busy month; it’s more like a month of sinking back into routine. Last month, I was so ready to get back to school. It’s been great so far. I’m loving my classes, and I’m doing well with keeping on top of readings. I went to watch The Superbowl with friends (we didn’t make it to halftime), took control of my own body, and I’ve made myself a solid group of friends. I’m really happy. Here’s what got me through the month: 1.        NetGalley     I’m sure you can tell based on the sheer amount of book reviews I’ve been posting, but I have been reading quite a lot. This is all thanks to NetGalley. I have been a member of the site for over a year, but I never really got into it until now. At home, I have an extensive bookshelf, but I couldn’t bring that to the UK with me. I turned to NetGalley, and I have been rewarded. As a member, I request book titles and get a free e-book. In exchange, I have
