Copycat the Cool Way #4

Time is just flying by! I mean, I am almost done my first year of university! I have a confession. I am finding it very difficult to blog regularly. It’s the end of the year and everything is going so fast all at once and I have so many ideas, and some posts half-written, but my focus is elsewhere. As soon as I get a second to breathe, I will sit down, write all of my ideas and go from there. Hopefully, I can find some motivation to be consistent. But I did end up writing something from the heart on Tuesday. I invite you to check it out here. It’s a topic I feel very strongly about. In other news, this week was pretty bland.  My birthday was last Saturday, and that was spectacular, but starting a week after so much excitement is hard! Also, most of my outfits came from my own making, just a warning.

Here we go:

Monday- This outfit is rather simple. Since I am only at school for one hour, I don’t go over the top with my outfits anyways. I took the idea from a magazine. I apologize for the awful quality of the picture.

Shirt- Forever 21
Tank- Bluenotes
Jeans- Old Navy

Tuesday- I have been dying to try out this outfit since I saw it, but I did not have a leather jacket until recently. It is from Coco's Tea Party, and I adore it. I got the dress on sale at the beginning of winter and I have not had a chance to wear it. Now I cannot wait until the weather gets warmer and I can bare it all! It has a criss-cross back with a space, and I think my back is one of my best features, so I can’t wait to flaunt it!

Jacket- Smart Set
Dress- American Eagle

Wednesday- I said it before, and I’ll say it again. I LOVE these leggings. Super comfy, and super cool. This outfit was the perfect mix of put-together and comfy. I find that I have a lot of nice t-shirts, but I don’t get the chance to wear them too often! I got this idea from Seersucker + Saddles. I have featured this blog before, so it just goes to show how amazing it is!

Jacket- American Eagle
Leggings- Roots
Shirt- It was a gift. I am not familiar with the brand

Thursday- Look! Another dress! I love dresses. Sometimes, pants just do not cut it. Also, I may have been trying to tempt the spring air to come out. But of course it was basically a blizzard. I also got splashed by a bus, and I was soaked when I was walking home. It was awful. This dress is a little short on me, but if I wear it with tights, it is fine. It started out as a copycat outfit, but I ended up wearing the cardigan instead because it looked a lot cuter.

Cardigan- Old Navy
Dress- Wal-Mart
Boots- Old Navy

Bonus- Friday’s outfit was not great at all. I didn’t even bother to take a picture. So instead, here is my birthday outfit! I love, love, love this outfit even now! The shirt is very light and airy, so it was perfect for the bar. And those shoes and that bag were meant to be together! Sometimes, things work out.

Vest- Smart Set
Shirt- Smart Set
Pants- Smart Set
Shoes- Payless

Nails of the Week- This is such a fabulous colour, and the picture does not do it justice. In proper lighting (and prime polish), it has tints of purple AND green! It’s really cool, and I suggest the shade.

For the Twill of it- Essie

So there you have it! I mentioned that I am a soph for my university next year, and we’re having a costume party tomorrow night! So stay tuned for my rendition of Recess’s Spinelli!

Have a great week everyone!

Is fall not the best reading season? I’m so glad I’ve had a few opportunities to sit on the front porch, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket with a hot drink and my book. Right now, it’s raining outside and all I want to do is cozy up and get back to my book. I’ve read some great non-fiction in the past six weeks. I’m learning so much about how people relate to the world around them. That is so important to me. Check them out! The Reason I Jump: The Inner Voice of a Thirteen-Year-Old Boy with Autism – Naoki Higashida – 4 Stars         This is a very short book that I think everyone should read – particularly those who work with children. Although knowledge has come a long way, there is still so much more to be learned about autism. This book is a series of question that Naoki Higashida answers from his point of view. Interspersed is also a handful of short stories from Higashida’s point of view.         It’s an i...

Copycat the Cool Way #2

I admit that I am a little late with this post. Things have been insane school-wise so I haven’t been keeping up to date with all my posts. Or anything for that matter. Plus, I got a new phone and I had to figure out how to get all the pictures from my old phone on to my laptop. Ugh. The following blurb is an imitation of my brain: duibqieufbijenwcijaaiojcfpo wijojndwqioNQIOENFONIONICQNINQ/ what? Descriptive right? Bear with me, I’m pre-writing a couple posts while I’m focused on blogging. I got you covered. Monday- Probably my favourite pants ever. They’re super comfy, but it can be tough to style them. I took the inspiration from a picture from a magazine (I think it might have been Glamour). It was also a spring day in Canada (did not last long), so I wanted to keep it cool temperature-wise. I have a blue cardigan that I typically wear instead of the scarf. Also, rainboots. Buy rainboots. They are the best for the icky, slushy, melty weather that is just around the corn...
