Pinterest Challenge- Brownie Oatmeal

I was doing my lovely rounds on Pinterest for my Pinterest Challenge and I found this recipe for Brownie Oatmeal from Dashing Dish. I mean, it had me at Brownie. I have a lot more chocolate products on my food board if you're interested. As I mentioned on my Very Inspiring Blog Award, I love breakfast, so I made this power oatmeal for the morning before an exam.  I did end up changing the recipe to suit my own tastes, and it’s pretty easy to make.
Brownie Oatmeal
Ingredients
·         1 cup of coconut milk
·         ½ cup of Greek yogurt
·         2 tbsp cocoa powder
·         1/8 tsp salt
·         2 tbsp honey
·         1 ¼ cup oatmeal

Instructions

Add the coconut milk.

Add the Greek yogurt.

Add the cocoa.

Add the salt.

Add the honey.

Add the oats.

Stir all the ingredients until thoroughly mixed.

Separate into two bowls/cups/mugs.

Place in the fridge overnight.

I forgot to get pictures of me taking them out of the fridge, but I had the oatmeal both hot and cold. I preferred it hot, but it was not my favourite breakfast. I thought it smelled better than it tasted. I do not think I will be making it again. You can check out the original on my Pinterest challenge board, because I don’t know how to make my pictures Pin-able yet (UPDATE: all my pictures are now pin-able). Let me know if you try it out!

Is fall not the best reading season? I’m so glad I’ve had a few opportunities to sit on the front porch, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket with a hot drink and my book. Right now, it’s raining outside and all I want to do is cozy up and get back to my book. I’ve read some great non-fiction in the past six weeks. I’m learning so much about how people relate to the world around them. That is so important to me. Check them out! The Reason I Jump: The Inner Voice of a Thirteen-Year-Old Boy with Autism – Naoki Higashida – 4 Stars         This is a very short book that I think everyone should read – particularly those who work with children. Although knowledge has come a long way, there is still so much more to be learned about autism. This book is a series of question that Naoki Higashida answers from his point of view. Interspersed is also a handful of short stories from Higashida’s point of view.         It’s an i...

Copycat the Cool Way #2

I admit that I am a little late with this post. Things have been insane school-wise so I haven’t been keeping up to date with all my posts. Or anything for that matter. Plus, I got a new phone and I had to figure out how to get all the pictures from my old phone on to my laptop. Ugh. The following blurb is an imitation of my brain: duibqieufbijenwcijaaiojcfpo wijojndwqioNQIOENFONIONICQNINQ/ what? Descriptive right? Bear with me, I’m pre-writing a couple posts while I’m focused on blogging. I got you covered. Monday- Probably my favourite pants ever. They’re super comfy, but it can be tough to style them. I took the inspiration from a picture from a magazine (I think it might have been Glamour). It was also a spring day in Canada (did not last long), so I wanted to keep it cool temperature-wise. I have a blue cardigan that I typically wear instead of the scarf. Also, rainboots. Buy rainboots. They are the best for the icky, slushy, melty weather that is just around the corn...
