In Conclusion- 2014

[via Instagram]
I know it has been a while since I have posted anything. I had to take, in all honesty, a mental health break. With the first semester of second year coming to a close, I was feeling worn out. Within my last two days of school, I had two papers and a huge project due. Needless to say, I was stressed. I let my treasured "me time" fall behind as I forged ahead, and it all caught up to me. All of my December Goals fell short (although I did paint my nails a couple times) However, after some time to sleep in and spend with family and friends, I was able to clear my mind. Am I feeling better? Absolutely. But I still have some work to do. My life requires a little bit of organization before I head back into school and dive into blogging again. I feel confident that I will be able to achieve this. I was doing so well for a few months, and looking ahead, I am determined to find my way once again.

In other news, I wish a Merry (belated) Christmas to everyone, and I hope your New Year is simply magical! I am looking forward to a week away to do some skiing with my dad and sister, and I will not be posting anything for the remainder of 2014. I am not one for New Resolution's because I believe you can make goals for yourself any time of year, but I hope to really stick to the regular Tuesday and Saturday schedule. I have a couple product reviews, book reviews, and exciting Pinterest activities in the line up. I'm still using my social media, so feel free to follow me on Instagram, Twitter, or Pinterest. If you've been reading this for a while, thanks for being part of my year!

Is fall not the best reading season? I’m so glad I’ve had a few opportunities to sit on the front porch, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket with a hot drink and my book. Right now, it’s raining outside and all I want to do is cozy up and get back to my book. I’ve read some great non-fiction in the past six weeks. I’m learning so much about how people relate to the world around them. That is so important to me. Check them out! The Reason I Jump: The Inner Voice of a Thirteen-Year-Old Boy with Autism – Naoki Higashida – 4 Stars         This is a very short book that I think everyone should read – particularly those who work with children. Although knowledge has come a long way, there is still so much more to be learned about autism. This book is a series of question that Naoki Higashida answers from his point of view. Interspersed is also a handful of short stories from Higashida’s point of view.         It’s an i...

Copycat the Cool Way #2

I admit that I am a little late with this post. Things have been insane school-wise so I haven’t been keeping up to date with all my posts. Or anything for that matter. Plus, I got a new phone and I had to figure out how to get all the pictures from my old phone on to my laptop. Ugh. The following blurb is an imitation of my brain: duibqieufbijenwcijaaiojcfpo wijojndwqioNQIOENFONIONICQNINQ/ what? Descriptive right? Bear with me, I’m pre-writing a couple posts while I’m focused on blogging. I got you covered. Monday- Probably my favourite pants ever. They’re super comfy, but it can be tough to style them. I took the inspiration from a picture from a magazine (I think it might have been Glamour). It was also a spring day in Canada (did not last long), so I wanted to keep it cool temperature-wise. I have a blue cardigan that I typically wear instead of the scarf. Also, rainboots. Buy rainboots. They are the best for the icky, slushy, melty weather that is just around the corn...
