Copycat the Cool Way #22

First thing you will notice is that there is no Friday outfit. I am sick. It started with three lumps in my neck, and now I have symptoms ranging from a fever to tonsils so swollen that it sounds like I'm choking when I talk. Sorry if that grosses you out. So I stayed home from school on Friday, and we'll see how this week goes. I'm still sick in bed today, and I have blood test results coming in tomorrow, so hopefully this all works out for the better! Good news is that I took the time to paint my nails this week! I even did it again yesterday. Hopefully this is a thing that will stick in my routine. I've missed it.

Tuesday- This was one of those outfits that I changed to fit what I have in my closet. I took the idea from Scribd and used the pattern and colour to create my own look. Although, I 've said it before and I'll say it again, I need more cardigans! I have two blue cardigans like this, but I would love some more colour options.

Cardigan- Old Navy
T-Shirt- Old Navy
Jeans- Jessica Simpson

Wednesday- New addition to my Instagram follows with @karlareed. I love her outfits, and this one was definitely right up my alley. She used a sweater for the gold texture, but I used a gold, sparkly tank top. It may not look it, but this was pretty comfortable. The plaid shirt was great, and I ended up sleeping in it that night because I slept at my friend's and forgot my pyjamas. Not suggested. I would have loved to wear this with my Oxfords, but it is still not quite warm enough here.

Plaid button up- Old Navy
Tank Top- Wal-Mart
Blazer- Target
Jeans- Old Navy

Thursday- This is minimal for me. But I've mentioned previously that I spend about 4 hours in a room that is either extremely hot or extremely cold, and it was hot this week. I recently bought this shirt, and the picture from Etsy gave me the idea to pair it with a floral scarf. Speaking of, I also need more floral scarves. I feel like it's a staple item, and I have only the one. Which is only partially true because it's my sister's. I feel like I'm coming up with  a wish list here!

Shirt- Old Navy
Scarf- ??
Jeans- Old Navy

Nails of the Week- I noticed that all my outfits included the colour blue this week. Maybe it was due to my nail colour. I chose Unfor-greta-bly Blue by OPI. As I said, I missed painting my nails.

Other than my sudden sickness, I had a good week. I finished my first of three papers, and I have one to do this week. I'm not sure how much school I will be able to attend this week, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can kick this thing in the butt! Wish me luck!

Is fall not the best reading season? I’m so glad I’ve had a few opportunities to sit on the front porch, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket with a hot drink and my book. Right now, it’s raining outside and all I want to do is cozy up and get back to my book. I’ve read some great non-fiction in the past six weeks. I’m learning so much about how people relate to the world around them. That is so important to me. Check them out! The Reason I Jump: The Inner Voice of a Thirteen-Year-Old Boy with Autism – Naoki Higashida – 4 Stars         This is a very short book that I think everyone should read – particularly those who work with children. Although knowledge has come a long way, there is still so much more to be learned about autism. This book is a series of question that Naoki Higashida answers from his point of view. Interspersed is also a handful of short stories from Higashida’s point of view.         It’s an i...

Book Review- A Treatise On Shelling Beans by Wieslaw Mysliwski

So this book took me way too long to read. I read before bed to shut my brain off, but I was so exhausted all summer that I was asleep as soon as I got into bed. It has been a long time, but I finally finished it! I took a good handful of quotes that sparked my thinking, so brace yourself! And if you’re interested in the tradition summer, you can find it here . 1.        When people can be divided by something they always will be (9). Just think-the only thing that really divides us as people are differences. If we see someone who is a fraction of a fraction different than us, our minds consider it division. Why is that? Why must we let things get in the way of relationships?   2.        All the more because if you ask me, these days the soul is a commodity like anything else. You can buy it and sell it, and the prices aren’t high (28) A popular book genre of the modern era is “self-help.” Lumped with that...
