Updates - I'm back!

Hello everyone and happy official summer! I am glad to say I am back after recovering from my knee surgery. I’m not entirely recovered yet (it will take about a year to fully recover), but I’m definitely on the right track at the moment. More on that coming soon.

I figured I would just show you guys some pictures from the past month from what I’ve been doing (other than recover).

smoothie, acl recovery, knee surgery, knee surgery recovery, breakfast

I feel like this one really sums up the first couple weeks. My dad brought my bed downstairs, and I barely moved from this room. All my meals were brought to me, but the nice thing is that I got to have lunch with my dad every day!

online course, summer school, teaching course, teaching qualifications, summer work

I spent this month doing an online course for another teaching subject qualification. I am grateful I had it because it kept me going and killed a few hours of time every day.

summer makeup, bridal shower, surprise bridal shower, summer look,

This is the first time I put makeup on and wore something other than sweat shorts and a baggy t-shirt! My friend is getting married in less than a week, and due to my lack of mobility, I was unable to go to her bridal shower. Instead, we threw her a surprise shower at my house and it was THE BEST.

outside, summer, summer vibes, summertime, poolside

The biggest deal recently has been the fact that I am now able to go outside. The stairs have been the hardest to work my way up to, but I’ve been strong for a week! Feeling the fresh air has never felt so good!

I’ve only started doing things in the past week, so this is brief. I’m glad I’ve been able to go this far and do so well.

What have you been up to recently?

Is fall not the best reading season? I’m so glad I’ve had a few opportunities to sit on the front porch, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket with a hot drink and my book. Right now, it’s raining outside and all I want to do is cozy up and get back to my book. I’ve read some great non-fiction in the past six weeks. I’m learning so much about how people relate to the world around them. That is so important to me. Check them out! The Reason I Jump: The Inner Voice of a Thirteen-Year-Old Boy with Autism – Naoki Higashida – 4 Stars         This is a very short book that I think everyone should read – particularly those who work with children. Although knowledge has come a long way, there is still so much more to be learned about autism. This book is a series of question that Naoki Higashida answers from his point of view. Interspersed is also a handful of short stories from Higashida’s point of view.         It’s an i...

Copycat the Cool Way #2

I admit that I am a little late with this post. Things have been insane school-wise so I haven’t been keeping up to date with all my posts. Or anything for that matter. Plus, I got a new phone and I had to figure out how to get all the pictures from my old phone on to my laptop. Ugh. The following blurb is an imitation of my brain: duibqieufbijenwcijaaiojcfpo wijojndwqioNQIOENFONIONICQNINQ/ what? Descriptive right? Bear with me, I’m pre-writing a couple posts while I’m focused on blogging. I got you covered. Monday- Probably my favourite pants ever. They’re super comfy, but it can be tough to style them. I took the inspiration from a picture from a magazine (I think it might have been Glamour). It was also a spring day in Canada (did not last long), so I wanted to keep it cool temperature-wise. I have a blue cardigan that I typically wear instead of the scarf. Also, rainboots. Buy rainboots. They are the best for the icky, slushy, melty weather that is just around the corn...
